It’s been a long, cold winter in the UK, but if you’re feeling miserable after the cold, you can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The summer is almost here! There is no better way to get over your winter blues than to head off on a summer getaway, even if just for the weekend. Here are a few suggestions on where to go for your UK summer holiday.
Head to the seaside
There really is no better place to get over your winter blues than the beach. Visit one of the UK’s many lovely seaside locations such as Brighton or Blackpool. Head to a nice seaside village and enjoy some fish and chips and a refreshing dip in the sea while enjoying the sunshine.
The Lake District
If the sea isn’t for you, how about a lovely lakeside setting? The summer is a great time to get out and enjoy the scenery with a nice walk or a bike ride. Get out on the lake itself with a nice lake cruise, or perhaps you would prefer to hire your own boat to explore the lakes. This has to be one of the best spots for a UK summer holiday.
City breaks
If the countryside isn’t your thing, perhaps you’d prefer a relaxing city break? The UK has many fantastic towns and cities for a weekend getaway. From London to Edinburgh, there are a lot of sights to see as well as great restaurants, museums and shopping.
Scottish countryside
There are few places more beautiful in the UK than the countryside in Scotland. If you want to experience this amazing scenery, summer is the time to do it. Head to the Scottish Highlands to see the most spectacular mountain scenery in the UK.
Cornwall
With beautiful countryside, beaches and even surfing spots, Cornwall is a fantastic location for a UK summer holiday. Beautiful scenery is everywhere in Cornwall and you can enjoy some of the best that the UK has to offer here. Visit the very southern tip of the country at Land’s End, along with some of the best coastal scenery in the UK.
