Visitors are seldom disappointed as the island boasts some of the most extravagant night spots in the whole of Europe, with many of the world’s top DJs regularly making guest appearances.
As well as nightclubs and beaches, the island also boasts some incredibly beautiful inland areas that attract many holidaymakers that are looking for a more quiet and relaxing break. Up in the hills, you can find secluded villas, traditional restaurants and fantastic viewing areas that overlook the stunning Mediterranean Sea.
If you are thinking about hiring a holiday home this summer in a more secluded part of the island, you can easily find luxury Ibiza villas to rent by merely undertaking a quick online search. Good rental providers will have a selection of properties in top locations around the island with prices to suit just about everyone’s budgets.
As well as offering a peaceful spacious environment, a luxury villa in Ibiza will also have a fully kitted out modern kitchen for tourists to enjoy. This, of course, provides a great opportunity for people to try their hands at creating some of the island’s many famous traditional Ibiza dishes.

Seafood paella is an old school favourite with both tourists and locals alike. Local restaurants will have their own versions of this rice dish with many being able to make it with the seafood of your choice. If you would like to create one in your villa, all you need is seafood, onions, peas, long grain rice and some turmeric and olive oil. To make this great dish, simply brown the onions, and then add rice, turmeric and stock. This you leave to boil for 15 minutes before added your seafood and peas.

Borrida de Rajada is another favorite dish on Ibiza. This dish comprises of a freshly filleted skate marinated in lemon and salt with a layer of fried, thinly sliced potato laid on the top. On top of this, a combination of lightly fried onions and garlic with cinnamon, almonds, saffron and parsley is evenly spread. The dish is covered and placed in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes and voila, your very own home cooked Borrida de Rajada.
3. Flaó

Flaó is a Balearic version of our much-loved cheesecake. This island favourite combines mint and aniseed with ricotta or mascarpone to give it a really unique taste. This cheesecake is made in much the same way as our own but with added aniseed in the pastry and plenty of mint in the egg and cheese filling. Topped off with a good sprinkling of sugar, this cheesecake makes an ideal desert at anytime of the day.
4. Sofrit Pages

Sofrit Pages is a traditional stew made with lamb, pork or chicken. This particular favorite is based on your own choice of meat, Sobresada or Butifarra sausages and potatoes. To add the flavor a combination of fried onions, whole sweet garlic, cinnamon, parsley and saffron. An incredibly tasty dish that people just love; if you don’t have the time to make it yourself, you can find it in most traditional restaurants on the island.
5. Ensaïmadas

Good local coffee and ensaïmadas make the perfect breakfast. These delicious items are similar to croissants but with a chocolate, cream and sweet pumpkin filling, making it one of the best Ibiza dishes to start your day. You can buy these fresh in the morning from most traditional bakeries on the island. Possibly a bit tricky for the novice home baker, but delicious all the same.
Cuisine wise, Ibiza really has so much more to offer than just the standard tourist fare which many restaurants serve in the busy beachfront areas. If you spend a little time off the beaten track, you will be sure to find some really great restaurants, serving some delicious traditional food. What are your favourite Ibiza dishes?
